Absztrakt (kivonat)
Based on the spring samples (n=23 539 specimens) collected between 2010 and 2019 in the framework of the monitoring programme coordinated by the Hungarian Hunters' National Association, we determined the migration characteristics of the species. Statistically verifiable differences were found between the sampling years, which allowed us to classify the ten years analysed into four groups using hierarchical cluster analysis. To model the dynamic course of each year in the groups (I–IV), we used twofold and threefold linear combinations of GAUSSIAN functions, which were suitable for modelling the differential representation of the species' migration by age, sex and age and sex, and for expressing the differences mathematically, as reflected by the regression coefficients (90.3–98.7%), which are indicators of the fit of the function and thus of its applicability. The linear combinations of double and triple GAUSSIAN functions used gave high fitting accuracy due to their flexibility, in contrast to the traditionally used saturation functions (e.g., the HUGGERSHAFF-, AWRAMI functions). The GAUSSIAN models adapted to the properties of the point sets also met the requirements of the data set and the requirements of the test (limitation, one or more extreme values). It can be stated from the results of the modelling that this method is suitable for describing the whole process, since it allowed the modelling of a process with one, two or three maximum values and, accordingly, the search for two or more inflection points, as well as the evaluation of the intensity of change of the migration process, with the help of using difference coefficients. The model was used to determine the maximum of spring migration, which in years with average weather conditions fell in the fourth week of sampling (16–24 March), while in years with advancing characteristics migration reached its maximum in the second or third week of March (8–17 March). ), so the spring migration of Woodcock may start as early as mid- February if the weather is favourable, but the majority of wintering Woodcock will only start to migrate towards their nesting areas in the first half of March. In years with extreme weather conditions and thus disturbed migration dynamics, migration peaks occurred in several peaks (12 March, 21 March, 4 April in 2013, 15 March, 25 March in 2018), as the process took place in several waves and with different intensities depending on weather conditions. The high number of data elements collected during the hunting bag monitoring was also differentially evaluated by sex and by sex and age. The SPEARMAN rank correlation of the comparative study by sex showed a positive correlation (p=0.638–0.921) between the migration of the sexes in all years of the high-element sample, i.e., there is no statistically verifiable difference in the temporal migration patterns of cocks and hens. The double GAUSSIAN functions used to model migration also showed the same time course for both sexes. Not only by sex but also by age within the sexes, we evaluated the samples of Woodcock collected during the monitoring for which the time of capture, the age and sex of the bird were known (n=14 867 specimens). With the help of SPEARMAN's rank correlation, samples differentiated by age and sex showed a positive correlation in all years (p=0.367–0.963), i.e., there is no statistically proven difference in the spring migration of cocks and hens in Hungary. We also used double GAUSSIAN functions to model the spring migration by age and sex in Hungary. The functions reflected the same characteristics for both sexes and age.
