Abstract

In today's fast-evolving and highly competitive economy, every company strives for sustainable business success. A key topic that is omnipresent in supporting employees' daily tasks and helping companies stay ahead of the competition is knowledge management. In recent years, the symbiosis between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and knowledge management has grown, along with the desire to build a centralized knowledge base. This base is intended to support not only new employees but also existing ones by providing access to valuable knowledge that has been acquired and stored across various siloed systems. The biggest challenge lies in the widespread distribution of data and information across these different systems, which increases the complexity and difficulty of retrieving critical knowledge. This, in turn, can threaten business continuity and success, which heavily rely on timely access to data. The rising trend of remote teams further amplifies the need for a centralized, easily accessible knowledge base. This research systematically reviews and highlights literature on knowledge management that incorporates IT and AI mechanisms. It analyzes their impact on modern organizations, alongside the challenges and limitations these technologies face in achieving sustainable business success.
